Satin Stainless Steel
Satin finish stainless steel has a diffuse finish, offering a soft shine. It has a short, parallel and uniform polished line. It looked like a No.4 finish, but the #4 finish is actually brighter than the satin finish, and the grain is fine, giving it a soft matte effect. Satin finish and No.4 finish are the easiest of the stainless finishes to maintain.
Depending on the application, the final surface finish of satin stainless steel can be between 120 and 320 grit. The higher grit means the lines are finer and the reflectivity is better.
Satin stainless steel is often chosen for signs, cladding systems, and sculptures. Whether used for exteriors or interiors, it can impart a sense of comfort and high-end.

Types of Satin Stainless Steel
Satin stainless steel has four styles. According to the degree of fineness, satin finish can be divided into No.3 finish, No.4 finish, No.5 finish, and No.6 finish.
No.3 Finish Stainless Steel
No.3 finish is achieved by polishing the stainless steel sheet on a vast belt machine using coated abrasive belts. It is done with 100-120 grit abrasive, so its brushing line is coarser than the No.4 finish. However, the No.3 satin finish stainless steel offers a balance between reflectivity and ease of cleaning, making it the best choice for interior decoration like backsplashes, countertops, cabinetry, and railings.
No.4 Finish Stainless Steel
No.4 finish stainless steel has a diffuse finish, offering a soft shine. It is a non-directional and uniform mechanical finish with a satin aesthetic.
No.5 Finish Stainless Steel
No.5 finish stainless steel is achieved by polishing with 240 grid abrasives, finer abrasives than those used for No. 3 and No. 4 finishes. It has a finer brushing line and smoother surface but still offers a low reflectivity. It is used into wall panels, elevator panels, handrails and balustrades.
No.6 Finish Stainless Steel
No. 6 finish is created using W63 grit abrasives, resulting in a smooth, matte surface with a non-directional texture. Although it has a matte surface, its reflectivity is higher than that of the No.5 finish. It is used in architectural projects, food and beverage equipment, and areas requiring a refined yet low-maintenance finish.
